Checking in on everyone’s bench setup

I was tidying up my tools the other day and suddenly noticed that my bench had transformed from neatly organized to a bit of a mess without me even realizing it. It got me thinking about how everyone else manages their workspace do you keep it spotless, let it get a little messy, or find a balance somewhere in between?

I was tidying up my tools the other day and suddenly noticed that my bench had transformed from neatly organized to a bit of a mess without me even realizing it. It got me thinking about how everyone else manages their workspace do you keep it spotless, let it get a little messy, or find a balance somewhere in between?

My bench is a microcosm of both my shop and my garage. Only I know where stuff is sometimes
I've got to clear off some of the one in my shop soon in the next day or so. I've got a big project going through and repairing over 2000 windsock snow goose decoys that got pretty torn up in 3 separate snow storms last spring.

Edit. That day is here. Only about 12 square inches of it showing now. Whar a buildup!

Haha, that bench definitely has a story to tell. A perfect example of organized chaos. Good luck with the cleanup.

One of the perks of retirement. I try to clean my bench and put everything away after each project. Doesn’t always happen but that’s the goal

for me, visible clutter isn't the same as disorganization. as long as tools are retrievable and the workspace is safe, a bit of mess is acceptable

Haha... looks like mine. My son said I should have mounted the top on a 30° angle so it's always clean.
