Hi everyone,

I have a Danarm 1-71-SS. After using it for the first time with Stihl bar oil (which is quite thick), I noticed the oil pump is only supplying a very small amount of oil, even with the adjustment screw turned all the way up.

I completely drained the Stihl oil and replaced it with a thinner oil, but the problem is still there even I run the saw several times.

Has anyone experienced this before or have any suggestions on what could be wrong?

It’s possible that the thick Stihl bar oil has clogged the pickup filter or the internal passages of the pump. First, try removing and thoroughly cleaning both the oil tank filter screen and the pump assembly. After that, run some thin oil through the system while manually cycling the pump to help flush out any leftover thick oil residue.

If cleaning doesn’t do the trick, the issue might be with the pump drive mechanism, which could be worn out, or perhaps the adjustment screw is stripped due to being forced when it was clogged. Be sure to check the pump gears for any damage as well.
