Some people bring their batteries inside to warm them, while others have their go-to brands or charging methods. What’s your best strategy for keeping your batteries healthy and your chainsaw running smoothly in the snow and freezing temperatures? How has that worked for you throughout the winter season?

Had to learn this lesson the hard way after a few mornings of rock-solid batteries. Now, I just keep them in the mudroom overnight. Starts up warm every time, and the saw doesn’t get bogged down nearly as much.

I started using a small, insulated lunch bag for my extra batteries after one got ruined in a cold snap. It’s nothing fancy, but it keeps them warm enough to run well all winter.

you know what, I’ve had great luck using a small insulated cooler or lunch bag to transport my batteries to the site.
if it’s really freezing, I’ll even toss a disposable hand warmer inside the cooler. believe it or not, it keeps the batteries in that good temperature range so they don't struggle to deliver power when you pull the trigger
