My saws are cleaned up, bar groove cleaned, chain sharpened/replaced, etc every time they are put away.

I always want them ready to go if needed for some reason.

I treat my farm equipment the same way as I hate having to fix something when I need it to work.

That’s a great habit to have. Being prepared can really save you from a lot of headaches down the line. Yeah, keeping your gear clean and ready to go makes a huge difference when you suddenly find yourself in need of it.

I'm probably more or less the same. I usually clean the bar groove, oil the chain & sprocket, sharpen or replace chains, use fresh fuel with stabilizer, clean the air filter, and inspect the spark plug. just to prevent corrosion and make sure a smooth restarts next season.
