Measuring bar groove wear

I've been using my chainsaw quite a bit this season, and I've noticed that the groove is starting to show some wear.
What's the best way to check for wear without just taking a wild guess?
I'd love to hear your favorite methods, tools, or tips to keep that chain running smoothly and safely.
