Poulan BOW Bar Nuts

Hi, there! I have an old Poulan 306A with a bow bar I use for bucking up firewood. I grew up running a bow bar, so I know you have to respect them, and use them only for cutting below waist level. The clutch cover nuts are made differently for the bow bar clutch cover vs the standard straight bar clutch cover. I am looking for replacement nuts, and can't find them anywhere. Nuts from a 245A (bow bar) would certainly work, and I believe the ones from a 4200 bow would work as well. Does anyone know where I might find some? Thank you.

The clutch cover nuts for the 306A bow bar are no longer in production and can be hard to come by. The easiest option is to look for a junked 245A or 4200 bow saw to salvage the hardware. If you can’t find the originals, you might consider making your own replacements using standard nuts along with custom washers or spacers. Just make sure to measure the thread pitch and diameter beforehand so you get the right fit.

Thank you for your reply! There's a great guy on Ebay who was advertising a Bow Bar clutch cover (without nuts). I contacted him and asked about the nuts. He had a pair that weren't OEM, his had a 1/2" hex head instead of the OEM 9/16". Since I'm not a "Leatherface" fanatic, that doesn't bother me in the least!! He listed the nuts for me (Ebay) and I bought them immediately. Running behind on errands, but will get them installed within a few days. Thanks again!
