Stihl 08s

I had a stihl 08s chainsaw that had served me well but needed to have its old ignition points and condensor replaced. I had dismantled the 08s and placed most parts into seperate containers for reassembly later.

I moved premises and was in a rush to get everything out of the house. I realised a few weeks later those containers went missing. To this day they cannot be found, that was 3 years ago.

I have the engine, fuel and oil tank, 22 inch bar and chain but missing carby, air filter and holder. missing top part that contains the points and condensor and puller.

Those parts are no longer available in Australia, Yes, I done a search on ebay as well.
Does anyone know if those parts I'm missing available in the States or elsewhere?

I have no inclination purchasing a complete 08s due to being expensive.

You're in luck! Sawzilla Parts has aftermarket carbs and pullers for the 08S, and Lil Red Barn provides an ignition chip that can replace those old points and condenser. It's also a good idea to look at U.S. sellers for used or reproduction air filter assemblies.

Thanks for that info, I was looking at Sawzilla Parts, wasn't aware of Lil Red Barn, the other thing is I'm missing half the assembly. I have the engine, bar, chain and fuel + oil body, missing the carby, air filter , starter puller, the part that holds the condensor housing and magnet and coil I would guess..

I'm not that savvy went comes to searching internet for various 08s parts, for me, it's a bit difficult unless I know the correct name of the part.

You might not find OEM new, but Tillotson and Walbro carbs that fit the 08s still float around in the States. Sometimes people retrofit with similar carbs off old Stihl 070/090s and get them running fine. Worth digging into cross-fit options instead of hunting unicorn originals.

Yes I do understand that, thanks, but carby is no good on its own without the other bits to complete the motor assembly, no good with half the machine.

I guess I'll have to post pics on here to show what I have left from the 08s. Maybe someone else has the missing bits.

I have not seen much in Queensland, Australia, all I've seen is whole 08s chainsaws at astronomical prices, way too much for a retired pensioner.

As mentioned earlier, I have attached photos of the items of the 08s chainsaw. As I had dismantled the chainsaw some time ago when I was in the process of moving, I had another bucket that had the missing parts. that particular bucket has gone missing as of 3 years ago.

I need to source those missing parts. I'm missing the magneto, the plate which the condensor and points sit on. The carby, carby housing and air filter. The puller with coil.

Has anyone seen any of the parts I'm after that's missing from the 08s in the USA?

Stihl Australian stores reckon there's buckleys chance unless someone is selling a whole one for parts. So far I have not seen any.

Nope, I cant make calls to the USA. My phone mobile plan is no good for overseas calls.

Maybe someone has a donor 08S chainsaw they no longer want or use. Definitely hard to get in Australia ebay. I do my own servicing when needed. The 08s chainsaw is very heavy to use.
