Spent an entire day clearing out trees that had fallen during the storm with my Poulan. It ran smoothly but had to take a few breaks to let it cool down. How long have you pushed yours in one go and how did it perform?

Pushed mine for a good 4 to 5 hours clearing brush. Had to pause a couple of times but it handled it all without any hiccups!

I run my saws for 15-30 minutes at a time before short breaks for fuel/chain oil/cooling
But pushing your saw all day with a few breaks means you're getting great use out of it, it'll run strong for hours with proper refueling and chain maintenance, especially with Poulans being reliable farm/ranch saws

@choppychuckle you can push it for as long as it runs well, but make sure to listen to your saw. if it's losing power, bogging down, or overheating (beyond normal warm up), then it's time for a break

Yeah, those are solid tips. Basically, if you keep an eye on how your saw's doing and keep it clean, a saw will usually tell you what it needs.
