Took out a widow maker

[Stihl 99]

This one came down earlier in the year from an ice storm.
I had several trees come down, but this was the worst one,
it laid over into and wedged in let's say it's big brother.
This was the Stihl family I used in this willow tree

Willow can really be a handful when things get tense, can't it? Smart move grabbing a few different saws from the Stihl lineup to tackle it safely. Better safe than sorry

No special rigging was required. I whittled on it to get it out, the limbs that were sticking out of the forks on the larger willow then the neighbors fence was in close proximity I used the HT-131 pole saw and cut off smaller length blocks dropping them from hitting the fence and more manageable, once I was away from the fence and cut the downed willow tree limbs to inside the larger standing willow, I went to work around the downed willow dropping every ounce of weight I could before going into the main trunk.
I used several large blocks I had cut from the large limbs to make cribbing semi-supporting the main trunk.
The 500I came out and I cut a large deep V-groove in the trunk next to the standing willow, but far enough back where downed willow would not skin the standing willow when it fell.
After the main trunk was on the ground, I still had to whittle more for the large limbs still wedged inside the standing willow and cut everything up where it was manageable to get it out of there.

That willow must've been a chore, especially with it tangled into another tree also bet that family earned their keep on that one, lol
