Cold starts can be a real pain, and trust me, I’ve had my moments.
That’s why I’ve come up with a carb adjustment routine that I swear by.
What’s your strategy for getting the carb just right when it’s freezing?
Any advice for making sure it runs smoothly right away?

I keep a small screwdriver in my pocket as they often need tweaking based on the weather. Mostly a bit richer in the winter.

I've dealt with my share of tricky cold starts as well. I usually turn the idle screw just a tad richer on those chilly mornings it really helps start things off smoothly. And a little choke along with some patience goes a long way

Yes as above I always find a tad richer helps and where I am in New Zealand not very
often gets to freezing point. For that matter I run most of my saws a wee bit on the
richer side as if you get them to lean as we all know you can cook them up. I don,t
really care to much on preformance as I am not running racing saws. When I tune
them always a bit richer on the high screw.

Running a little rich is definitely a good precaution and you’re absolutely right about steering clear of cooked saws. Really appreciate you sharing your experience.
