If you've ever spent time with a chainsaw, you know that certain issues tend to crop up time and again. Whether it’s struggling to start, chain tension slipping, dealing with the right fuel mix, or just trying to keep that blade cutting straight, we all have our own tricks for tackling these recurring problems.

So, what chainsaw troubles do you find yourself facing, and what are your go-to fixes?

For me, it's mostly firewood duty, and the chain tension is always bugging me out. I just keep a wrench close by and check the tightness often keeps my cuts straight.

I've been using chainsaws on my land for some years, mostly to get rid of trees that fell after storms. What gives me a hard time is getting the darn thing started when it has been sitting unused a while. Usually, I will just drain the old gas, clean the spark plug, and check the carb real quick. After I started doing all of that, it starts up way better.

Maybe even start it up after draining and run all the residual gas out of the carb. I even used to add a little Marvel's mystery oil to that last bit of gas to coat the cylinder. Not sure it benefits anything more than my peace of mind though

Thanks for sharing that. It totally makes sense to run it dry, and I’m really intrigued by the Marvel’s Mystery Oil tip. It might be worth a shot just for the peace of mind.
