easystart comparisons?

I have two quite old Stihl 009s that have served me well. A neighbor showed me his Stihl 180 C-BE, 16" bar, 31.8cc. It is an easystart and I was impressed how easily it started. It appears this model may be discontinued. Have there been any comparisons of the Stihl easystart saw to other brands easystart saws?

I haven’t done a side by side with other brands, but Stihl’s system feels smoother and more reliable than most of these generic easystart systems I’ve used

Just returned from going to the Stihl dealer to purchase a easystart 182, as the 180 has been discontinued. I was waiting for my 2 009's to be looked at to see why one of the recoil starts was impossible to pull and the other would start but not run, and I took a new unused chain from the 16" 009 to see if it could be used on the new Stihl 182. Turns out the chain is designated with a yellow marker and could not be used on the new saw, it would need a chain designated by green. I was so close to purchasing this saw and decided now to wait. Then I walked over to the repair shop and the tech walked out with the 009's and said they are both fine and ready to go. Seems in trying to keep-it-simple, I put off buying something for another few years.

Yeah, Stihl's Easy2Start is widely considered one of the best easy-start systems out there!
You dodged the purchase because of the Green vs. Yellow chain coding.
Your old 009 ran a Yellow chain, and the new 182 requires a Green chain for safety.
It's a common issue, but an easy fix if you change your mind later.
Finding out both 009s were fine is fantastic!
The impossible pull was almost certainly flooding, and when you said that it starts but won't run was likely pulling the cord again on choke instead of bumping the lever to run.
Simple user error, but it looks like those old saws aren't done yet!
