Echo CS 345 fueling issue, tank vent location

Trying to troubleshoot a fueling issue on my Echo CS 345 and I'm a bit stumped about the fuel tank vent. I see the main fuel line going to the carburetor, and the return line from the primer bulb. But there's a third, thinner line that seems to vanish into the engine casing, near the cylinder. I'm pretty sure this is the vent line, but I can't locate where it actually terminates or how to get to it if it's clogged. Has anyone dealt with this on a CS 345 before? Any guidance on its exact location or how to access it would be a lifesaver!

I had the same issue with that small hose on my CS-345. It's the fuel tank vent, it goes under the top handle to a small check valve inside the cover. Take off the top cover and handle, then grab the hose and pull the valve out. Test it: if you blow air into the tank easily, but can't suck air back out, it's good. If it's blocked or lets air through both ways, swap it out. Put everything back together, and your fuel issue should be fixed. Tell me how it goes.

Back the fuel cap off a few turns also make sure the fuel line has not got soft and collapsing
when hot.

Yup, the vent is basically hiding right under the top handle. Rip that cover off, pull the line and check valve. You can test it by blowing one way. If it's clogged or lets air both ways, just grab a replacement... the OEM part runs under $8.
