EFCO MT8200 experiences & opinions

Hey, I just found an untouched EFCO MT8200 at an old supplier's place. Has anyone used this model before? I'd like to know what you think about it or if you've had any time using it.

I ran one a while back and it cuts strong, but it's a bit heavy if you're using it all day. Parts can be tricky to source depending on where you are.

That's a bit on the heavier side. Makes it a good saw for professional work but might be a lot for casual use. So it depends on what you';l use it for.


Its got strong engine and robust build. It is not as common as other brands, but it has a dedicated user base. If you take the time to get it running properly and maintain it well, you should have a solid and powerful saw. Since it is new but has been sitting for a long time, you will want to check all the fluids and fuel lines and give it a good going-over before you try to start it.

an untouched MT8200 is a rare find! I ran one of those for a few seasons before I switched over to a different brand. oh, it's an absolute beast, no doubt.
The 81cc engine has incredible torque and it'll pull through some seriously big wood without bogging down. It's a professional-grade saw and it feels like it. The downside? It's heavy. After a full day of felling and bucking, you'll feel it. Also, finding parts can be a bit of a pain compared to something like a Stihl or Husqvarna, but the common wear and tear parts are usually interchangeable with similar models from that era. For an 'old school' power saw, it's a solid choice
