Help! Eager beaver.

Hey yall I have a mcculloch eager beaver 2.o im looking for some help with. It has a zama carb but I cant get gas to go past the the needle. Even after cleaning it out. Is the internal check valve on this thing toast or is able to get unblocked somehow? Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.
