My Husqvarna 440 E Series 2 chainsaw is leaking bar oil. The leak is happening right where two plastic parts of the body connect. It looks like there should be some sort of gasket or O-ring in there to seal it up but I can't find a part number for it anywhere.

I'm trying to fix it the right way without just patching it up. I was wondering if anyone has had to replace this part before. Is there a specific part number I'm missing? And if not, is there a better fix than using RTV or JB Weld? Any tips would be a huge help.

I had the same problem with my 440 E after using it for a few months around my yard in Pasadena. The spot where the plastic parts meet looked like it needed a gasket, but it's actually made to seal without one. There's no part number for it.I cleaned the area really well and used a small line of Permatex Ultra Black RTV. It's worked great, even with heat and shaking. If you want a full fix, you'd have to replace the oil tank side, but the RTV is a good and simple fix for now.
