Looking for a Good Saw to Clear My Land

Hi everyone,


I recently bought a piece of land that's full of trees, thick brush, and rocky areas. I'm looking to buy a reliable saw to help with clearing — mostly cutting through fallen trees, trimming branches, and dealing with roots or dense vegetation.


I don't have any saw yet, so I'd really appreciate recommendations on what kind would be best for this kind of outdoor work. Something durable, efficient, and well-suited for rough terrain would be ideal.

So I've worked in the tree care industry for a few years now and I can tell you one of the best and most loved saws for ground work is gonna be a stihl ms 261c or a husqvarna 550xp both are 50cc both are reliable and both of which I've used personally .in my personal opinion that's what you should buy .Hopefully that helps
 
Take a look at the Echo CS-590 Timberwolf. It's an excellent value and a solid saw! Echo saws have a 5yr warranty. The Timberwolf will run a 24" bar. If you want something a little lighter look at the Echo CS-501P. This is a professional 50cc chainsaw. The 501 is not a strong as the Stihl MS261 but it's a better value!
 
How big are the logs and what diameter are they. If they are around the
2 to 3 feet through any of what Rich or Dylan have told you would be fine.
If they are up around the 4 feet through should still be able to get away with
one of those saws. Stay away from the chinese clone stuff a waste of money as far
as I am concerned. Will not have one in my shed and as I collect saws and have
37 all up that might tell you something. I did weaken a few years ago and because it
was cheap brought a saw called a Certa which was a big saw 88cc but while using it
spent more time putting it back together and tightening screws on it. When you could get
it going chain speed was to slow kept bogging and was just to heavy.

A Bobcat, and small saw Is my thought
 
What area are you maintaining ?

It took me 3 years to reduce trees and clear brushes on 3 acres. In the beginning used brushcutter more than chainsaw.

Had bobcat twice over to remove some larger stumps.

I did it with a small chainsaw, which was appropriate for my experience level.

If i did it again, i would get echo 590 minimum, pricewise.

I 110% believe in Echo saws. Size is up to you . I use a 68cc cs680 for felling' I have a cs330 30cc w/12" bar for limbing and trimming. I have a quite old John deere 55 cc that is an Echo in disguise. I think it is 79'80 vintage. Still runs awesome and I love to use that old saw.
 
30cc and 60cc seem to be good combo for me.

If i was to add another one than,
Echo cs2511p or some battery powered.
 
I, often, take my CS-620P 24" and CS-355T 14" when I'm cutting. The 355 is nice to run for limbing and smaller bucking. It is light enough to run one handed when using a saw buck when buzzing up 3"-5" stuff.
 
Stihl MS261 or MS362 might be more appropriate depends on the size of the trees we are talking.
Also would suggest the Stihl HT131 pole saw
