Ms880

Hi, I have an MS880 with no spark, done all the usual tests and with a spark tester the bulb lights up but not enough oompf to bridge a gap 0.020",
Genuine oil pack + plug replaced+ kill wire disconnected no joy.
Only thing left is flywheel or am I missing something ?
Any help appreciated !

Try adjusting to .015" gap

Very good possibility, you have covered everything else.

I'm down in rainy and humid SW Florida and I have to periodically sand the magnets and the coil on my Chipper shredder. Very different motors I know but they all need spark.

As CaptTurbo has said check that as it can be a real problem in wet places.
Just done a Honda motor the other day with just that problem flywheel Magnets
and coil face rusted. Got some light sandpaper and cleaned them up and had spark
straight away. if it is not that you may have to test the coil or just get a new one
as that could possibly be the problem too.

Thank you, I am on the third coil now suspect the original was not actually faulty, cheap Chinese knock off was discounted so Stihl original purchased likelihood of 3 dodgy coils I suspect 0.
As I see it only flywheel left but an expensive part so being cautious
