I am new also. Live outside Atlanta and have been using chainsaws most of my adult life for firewood and other tasks. Bought my first saw in 1978, a Poulan 306A Bow saw, and have acquired others since. The Poulan was my favorite but it recently decided to lock up on me. Want to get it rebuilt. Also have a big Stihl.
My first saw I bought new in 88 P45CB Poulan grey frame. I also have a couple Homelites, an Echo and a 1616 skilsaw chainsaw that was my father's. Oh and my Grandfather's Pro Mac 610. My goal is by the end of winter I will have them up and running.
I have a Dewalt DCB620 that I got at a flea market for $150 with 1 20V battery and charger. looked brand new. Works great but after using it for 3-4 months of heavy use it quit oiling the chain. It wasn't the pump it was a stud on the motor that makes the pump work that sheared off. I tried drilling a hole and inserting a roll pin but it did not work. only other option is to replace the whole motor at $180+. No thank you. It seems to be a common problem. Going to attempt to build a gravity oiler with a small plastic bottle and some tubing.
