Plan it all or wing it?

Are you the type to plan everything out or do you prefer to just go with the flow? I used to meticulously schedule every single minute of my day, but now I’ve switched to jotting down a quick to-do list and seeing where the day takes me. It’s so much less stressful! How do you usually manage your day?

I just keep a rough to-do list and pretty much wing it. Feels way more real, you know? Like, actually living my life, not just managing a spreadsheet.

You guys all killed it.
I try to do a list ( small) every day. Gives me a sense of achievement as I stroke things off.

Totally with you. Checking off a list is the adult version of leveling up.

I'm retired. I have no plan. A successful day is one that I live through. When I was working I used time-management techniques, and a daily planner. When I retired, I revolted.

Haha, I hear you, retirement is pretty much the ultimate 'no planner, no problem' adventure. If you make it through the day, that’s a win.

Congrats on your retirement, by the way.

I enjoy my day way more when I give myself some wiggle room.
As many have said, I’m retired, and going on 20 years now. However, circumstances for me will always determine my response to any actions.

Say, if a tree naturally falls onto areas that interfere with the usual course of living or navigation, while using the best safety measures possible, there will be no additional pre-planning.

If it is something else that doesn’t cause interference, a nuisance or eyesore, I will pre-plan for safety sake.

Great approach. Play it by ear and keep safety in mind. Planning helps, but being flexible is key.
