Real or artificial Christmas trees what’s your choice?

I was at the farm supply store yesterday, picking up some parts, and I noticed they had both options available. It got me thinking about what everyone here does for Christmas. I’ve always gone with real trees since that’s how I was raised, but honestly, the mess and hassle are starting to get to me. My kids love the experience of picking one out, so that’s a bonus! What about you, do you prefer real or artificial? Have any of you switched from one to the other?

I think it's all about the experience. If you have kids that really enjoy it, by all means. For them, later in life, that memory will be priceless and likely passed down to their kids. And if you have somewhere to just cut one down like Clark Griswold did, I makes it easier. But if you're buying one, it's how much pain to the pocket you can stand after buying presents. I stopped getting real trees once they reached $80. Just seemed ridiculous. I've heard they're double that now.

You’re exactly right, the prices have become outrageous. And I completely agree, the memories we make for the kids are what really matter. Once the costs got out of hand, switching was an obvious choice.
