Reed vavle block leak echo cs-3400

Hi folks, anyone have experience with this? Chased down a crankcase leak to the where the reed valve assembly mounts to the crankcase. Both surfaces and gaskets look good. Crankcase mating surface is flat. Replaced the gasket and it's still leaking in this area.

Hey-Lap both surfaces with a sheet of 320 grit silicone carbide paper and mineral spirits on a flat surface glass-marble tool box top-cast iron lapping black--clean surfaces with rub alcohol --reinstall gasket with light coat permatex # 2---snug down nice and evenly- you got it -David -Albany Ga. old cat mechanic 43 years.
