Tinkering with exhaust on my Jonsered 2094

I've been testing a few custom chainsaw exhaust ideas lately and thought I'd share. My trusty Jonsered 2094 has always been a powerhouse, but the stock muffler just didn't do it justice. Even after a decent mod, it felt strangled. My first try at a custom chainsaw exhaust setup was a straight pipe, it was too open and it leaned out fast and ran horribly

That's a common experience with straight pipes on chainsaws.. they often lean out significantly!
The stock mufflers are designed with specific back pressure in mind to maintain the correct air and fuel mixture for that engine.
If you're up for another mod, you might want to consider experimenting with different baffle designs or a smaller exit diameter to find a balance between improved flow and maintaining enough back pressure for optimal performance!

I would try to richen the carb a bit to compensate. It's not going to be fuel efficient for sure, but at least it should run better. Or you can play around with the exhaust and find that sweet balance

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking next, some kind of baffled setup with a smaller outlet, just enough flow without losing that sweet spot, I appreciate the tip, I'm dialing it in

That's the plan, I'll try richening the carb first, then tweak the exhaust from there
