I'm pretty new to chainsaws and got an Echo CS-310 from my neighbor, it's in great shape and barely used. It starts up fine when cold, idles okay, and cuts well at first. But after a few minutes, it dies when I hit the throttle.

I already cleaned the air filter, changed the spark plug, and made sure the fuel mix is right. Still having the same issue. Not sure what else to check. Would appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

I think you're dealing with a clogged carb or maybe it's running a bit too lean. Why not try tweaking that H screw just a touch richer? Or if you're feeling up to it, give the carb jets a good clean. It might do the trick

Did you check your muffler screen? There might be a carbon buildup that can restrict the exhaust flow and cause the same stalling under throttle. Did you also notice if your saw starves for fuel after a few minutes? if yes, your fuel tank vent is blocked.

Aside from what @SawdustKing said. You can consider getting a rebuild kit which usually solves that problem.
