Hello all, I’m new to the chat, I have a couple saws. A husky 261 and an older small stihl and poulin for the kid 😀. Anyway I was looking to set up an Alaska mill at my property in MT, just for hobby stuff and small building projects. I just researched a couple things, but curious on current users feedback about getting started. The trees on the property are pine and are pretty small probably around 12 to maybe 16 inches diameter. Like a said, it’s just a hobby and looking to have a little fun. Thanks!

Any 70cc or bigger saw would be good for that. I recommend mixing your saw gas 32:1 to help keep your saw from a lean condition. Milling creates a lot of heat so piston and cylinder damage happens fast if the saw runs lean.
