High mountain dirt bike saw

Hey fellas. New to the forum.
So here’s the situation; I live in the mountains of Idaho and ride a ton of trail maintenance to keep things open via volunteer work and my own riding.

I have a saw mount where the number plate/headlight goes on my bike. Full aluminum bolted to the frame.

I started with an echo 355t, Oregon 16” bar and thinner chain. It does okay, but the size of trees we cut gets insane. Most guys stick with top handles but I don’t mind the rear handle if the body isn’t super long.

I found myself running my ms250 (stock 18”) more and more for the power. Especially over 10k ft elevation it gets to be necessary


My question is if I were to upgrade what would be best in slot? 18-20” bar seems necessary. You guys would laugh at what we’re cutting with these tiny saws. I spent 4+ hours cutting a 4’ round tree out of a trail with the 355… that bar and chain went in the trash after that.

Ideally it would be:
50cc
10ish lbs (wet, loaded full more like 12) seems to be the max on the dirt bike suspension before it becomes too much weight to ride with in the really rough stuff.
Absolutely bulletproof. These things get mounted vertical, heavily abused, rode hard put away wet. No frills Honda civic saw is best.

I was looking at 261s and echo 510p, but would love the wisdom of guys running these daily.

I pack a 026 with 18" ive also packed a 372 with 32" bar removed in a back pack
This season id much rather let you clear the trails then ill follow with a ride. You ride sale mtns as i.

the trail classic is the Stihl MS 261 and I haven't hear anyone complain about not delivering or stuff like that, so it's a good option to consider.

Really like my 261 pro saw and my MilwaukeeM-18, 8” Hatchet (fits in a backpack) for smaller stuff.

Really like my ms261 and for smaller stuff a Milwaukee M18 (8inch) Hatchet that fits in a backpack.
