How has this year been for you?

You start each year with some sort of plan, but let’s be honest, things hardly ever go as expected. Now that we’re looking back, do you think this year turned out to be more challenging or easier than you thought?

I kicked off the year with an ambitious list and a lot of confidence. After dealing with some unexpected repairs, a job change, and personal challenges, I’d say it was tougher than I’d planned. Still, it became manageable once I let go of trying to make everything go perfectly.

In January, I was convinced I had it all figured out—then spring rolled in, and a lot of my plans changed. Even with the unexpected turns, it turned out to be easier than I thought, mainly because I finally figured out how to pace myself better.

I went into the year thinking it would be a breeze, but some projects took way longer than anticipated. However, once I settled into a routine, it didn’t feel as overwhelming as it initially did.

This year definitely threw me a few surprises I wasn’t ready for. I started off with a clear plan, but with some unexpected work events and family needs, it quickly became more about navigating challenges.

I’m the same as you guys. Some projects were too much for me and some were a breeze.
I have great neighbours and friends with backhoes etc. that helps.
I have eliminated a few more things that I will work on in my little shop. Pretty much down to anything that I can lift onto my bench. I have a chain hoist so that helps with generators etc.

It sounds like this year brought a bit of everything challenges and victories alike. I'm really glad to hear you found ways to navigate through it all and keep making progress, even with the unexpected twists.
