Did you end up making the switch back in May or still weighing it out? A 46cc engine can technically run a 24-inch bar but it's pushing the upper limit for that displacement. You'll lose cutting efficiency in hardwoods and may notice slower chain speed under load. Ensure the chain pitch and gauge match your sprocket and bar mount or you'll run into alignment issues. If you're cutting mostly softwood or doing light duty work, it might be manageable but keep an eye on engine strain and heat buildup.
