Husq 455 E . Got a plastic crank instead of bar nuts to loosen bar . The chain won't stay tight while saw is running and cutting . Anyone had this problem ? It's a new one on me .

Did you end up finding a fix for your 455E since you posted? The plastic crank tensioner setup can be finicky if the bar slot or adjuster pin isn't seated right. If the chain keeps loosening mid-cut, check for debris in the bar groove or around the sprocket. Any buildup can throw off tension. Also, inspect the drive sprocket for wear, as this can cause inconsistent chain movement even if the tension feels right at rest. Is the chain getting tighter and looser as you rotate it by hand or only while under load?

I had it apart to replace the oil pickup tube in the oiler reservoir . Cleaned and reassembled . Started it , made a cut and the chain went loose . Retightened the bar and chain , same thing . It doesn't loosen while I turn it by hand . The sprocket shows little wear . I will take it apart and reassemble just to be sure everything is right on it . I may replace the sprocket anyhow , because why not ? Thanks .
