My old Stihl 026 finally got a full makeover

Hey everyone! Excited to be here. I've had an old 026 sitting in the garage for years that was too tired to run. Just finished rebuilding the carb and putting a new piston in it. Fired up on the third pull. Feels good to bring an old saw back to life.

Hey, welcome to the forum! That's a cool story it reminds me of when I saved an old 240 from my uncle's shed. I spent a weekend cleaning it and swapping out some parts, and it started right up. That first revving sound is the best!

Nice to have you here! Your post makes me think of my first rebuild which was a little 025 I got at a garage sale. It took longer than I thought, but hearing it run again felt so good.

Welcome! I get it I’ve been fixing up a 350 in my garage. Each little thing I fix feels like I’m reversing years of neglect. It feels good.

Happy you're here! It's special to get an old saw working again, mostly if it's been sitting around for years. You spend the time, do all the small fixes, and then that first roar makes it all worth it.

Even after 44 years, still feels good to get any saw running. Not feasible in the shop, that's why I have tools at home too.
