What kind of gloves do you reach for?

Okay, so what gloves do you usually reach for when you're working every day? Do you like thick gloves, thin ones, leather maybe, or do you just grab whatever's lying around the toolbox? Just wondering what everyone likes and why.

I usually grab some thin leather gloves. I learned it from my dad, who always wore them in his workshop. They give me a good grip, but aren't too thick so I just kept using them.

To be honest, I just use what's in the toolbox. I used to work construction during the summer when I was in college, and we'd swap gloves all the time. So, I never cared too much. It's just what I'm used to.

I usually just grab whatever's lying around in the toolbox. I started out using leather gloves years ago, but I've started mixing in the thinner ones. It gives you a better grip when you need to feel what you're doing. It's funny how old habits stick with you since then

Leather is expensive, for something that's so easily misplaced. Anything "coated" on the palms/fingers works for me. Thin in warm weather, lined in cold. Matching, on a good day.

I use the cheap rancher type leather glove found in farm stores, gemplers, etc

It seems like practicality wins here, using coated gloves for daily tasks and opting for rancher leather when you really need something tough.
