Electric chainsaws are they keeping up with gas models in your experience?

Are electric chainsaws really keeping pace with gas models in your experience? I bet you’ve had a chance to try out electric chainsaws by now. How do you feel they stack up against gas models in terms of power and durability? What’s your opinion on making the switch?

I bought a DeWalt in 2018 to use inside the barn for cutting out old beams with out having to run a gas saw.

I have other DeWalt battery and older corded tools so went with DeWalt.

8 years with the saw and still runs like new.

Have been extremely satisfied with the power of it. The battery holds a charge really well under cold temperatures. It can be in the 20's for weeks and go out and just used the saw. Battery holds a charge.

Discovered after getting a sawmill that the battery saw is great for cutting 16-20' slabs in half to remove off the cant. First few cuts on the logs are always waste . No sense in starting a gas saw for 1 cut. Even take it as a backup saw sometimes since I'm usually within 20 minutes of the house.

Just bought my wife the Stihl GTA 26 to do her own trimming around the yard / tree line . She already has the battery trimmer that takes the same battery which lasts a long time. For a person in their 70's should be a good choice. Stihl had the Christmas special deal to get an extra battery included.

Really appreciate that strong endorsement. It’s tough to find a battery saw that’s as dependable as this one. Sounds like it’s just what you need for mill work and quick cuts.

DCCS670X1 is a beast for a cordless. Brushless motor really holds up.
Smart using it for slabbing too. Gas saws hate short idle bursts, right?
GTA 26 is solid for light work and battery sharing
