You’re in the middle of a cut, and it feels like your chain is dragging through mud, even though it’s sharp. Before you start blaming the wood, let’s share some tried-and-true tricks, quick adjustments, and clever hacks to get that chain moving freely again and restore your saw to its full power.

In the middle of tackling a large stack of logs my saw suddenly felt sluggish. It took me just five minutes to figure out that the chain was a bit loose. I adjusted it, added a little oil, and just like that, it was back to slicing through the wood effortlessly

Thought my chain had gone dull after a long morning of chopping firewood, but it turned out the bar groove was just clogged. Once I cleaned it out and tightened the tension, it was gliding through the wood again.
