Hi all, to be honest, I am not a really a chainsaw guy. I'm a motorcycle and small engine mechanic for a missionary organisation in Papua New Guinea. Some of my customers bring in chainsaws, usually big stuff like Stihl 090's (or their chinese copies) and the big Husky 3120 XP's which they use for small time milling operations. Also some smaller stuff, sometimes weird old stuff like a Solo or a Sachs-Dolmar, occasionally the really decrepit old Homelite will come in. And sometimes I need to pick people's brains to help me figure out weird problems, so I find it useful to be a part of forums like this one and ArboristSite. I'm not really new, I was on ArboristSite since 2008, I think.

Yeah, especially in a place where there are so few motorcycle or small engine mechanics. Local guys who want to be mechanics all want to work on big diesels because that is where the money is for mechanics. I, on the other hand, sometimes get paid in fruits and vegetables, coffee beans or dead motorcycles. There are local guys who have sort of self-taught themselves through trial and error, some of those guys are pretty sharp and I try to help them as much as I can.
