I have a Solo 636 that I use for limbing but the starter doesn't always engage like it should. I have done extensive internet searching for parts. Does anybody know where I can get a new starter for this saw? Thanks for any help. I have bought a Husqvarna 435 to replace it (so for those that would answer buy a new saw I did ;) ). But I would still like it to work for lawn clean up etc.

I'm just now seeing your post from last week about the Solo saw. Those were good little German saws and worth keeping around for small jobs. Your best bet for a part like a starter is often not online, but at an old, independent auto shop. Some of us still have boneyards of old machines for parts. What part of the country are you in?

Utah. I should have updated this post. I sprayed the living bejesus out of it with PB Blaster and it seems to be working now. Thank you for the answer. And I will keep that in mind for any future things I might need.
