I'm new here, but just finished a small engine maintenance course and wanted to share something weird I've run into. I picked up a new Echo CS-4910 and it ran great at first, then suddenly started losing power, I found the air filter was completely clogged and since then, I've had to replace the air filter after every tank about 6 or 7 times, has anyone experienced this?

Welcome! And yeah that's definitely unusual, having to replace the air filter that often isnt normal. It might be the environment you're using it in, like a lot of dust or debris, or maybe the filter isn't the right type for your Echo. Others have run into similar issues in dusty conditions. Have you checked if the filter matches the specs or tried using a different brand??

Welcome!

I also have a 4910 in my collection. Great saw. I’m thinking your cans and/or fueling aids may be contaminated, assuming you’re not fueling in dirty conditions.

I notice on my ca500v the air filter cover has some fine mesh type of filter on part of the breather slots, could that possibly have an effect if it was missing?
