Friends – I have been a STIHL user most of my life but a year or so ago I bought this beefy Husqvarna. Other than it being heavy for this 59 year-old body, I have loved this thing. A few months back I had the chain to start slipping off on the thing. I’ve been using Husqvarna chains, but recently went to KAKIE to see if that would help. It hasn’t. Besides being extremely frustrated I’m wrecking a bunch of chains. I have loosened and I have tightened the chain and I can’t seem to find the solution. Any help would very much be appreciated.

Have you checked, that the rim is OK. Not worn out, having cracks or anything?

Make sure your bar isn't worn or bent, as that can cause the chain to slip, you can also check for any damage on the sprocket...you can tighten the chain, but not too much

Huh... This sounds like a problem with the bar, sprocket or bar studs. Those are your priorities to check. And also make sure the bar groove isn't clogged. Those are the main problems.

I would have the same guess as the others here.
For the sprocket, sometimes the teeth can get worn or damaged, and that can cause the chain to not sit properly and eventually slip off.
It's also worth looking into the guide bar itself. Over time, the rails can also get worn unevenly or can develop burrs.
Just make sure to remove the saw and wear gloves when you check and run your fingers along the rails.
Sometimes, minor burrs can be cleaned up with a file!
And like they mentioned, using the wrong chain pitch or gauge can cause the slippage so you have to check that too.
For the tension, a good way to check if it's correct is when it's cool, you should be able to lift the chain a little, about a dime's thickness in the middle of the bar!

You can get a bar dressing tool which will bring your bar back to even as they
always seem to wear harder on one side than the other. And as all the other
threads have told you check the sprocket for wear. Don't know how tight
you run your chains but with non sprocket bars I run mine when pulled down
I cannot see the bottom of the drive teeth and a bit tighter than that with
a sprocket bar. can you tell when running which end it is coming off engine
end or bar sprocket end.

Did you check on the tang width? Some Huskys are 0.058" or 0.063" and the Bar should tell you. The more common 0.055"and will fit but not run properly under load...

Also get a hacksaw blade and point it and clean your bar out they do build up
with gunk in the grove.
