I ended up doing a little cleanup with the chainsaw over the holidays, nothing major, just clearing a few fallen limbs. Got me wondering if anyone else was out logging or cutting on the holiday.

Thanks for starting the post. It really does sound like a typical holiday break. I’d love to hear what everyone else got up to during that time.

Yeah, I ended up doing a bit of cutting on Christmas morning. My parents have a bit of land, and a limb had fallen across the trail. It wasn't something I had planned, but it turned out to be a fun reason to use the saw.

I did some minor cleanup recently. A windstorm dropped a few branches in my driveway, so I grabbed the saw and tidied up a bit. It felt good to fire it up and stretch my muscles for a few minutes.

I actually stayed out of the woods this year. Last Christmas, though, I spent half the afternoon cutting up a tree that had fallen behind the barn. Compared to that, this year was pretty quiet.

We are headed home today after the holidays. We know that there were a couple of storms that came through with lots of wind and rain. It is not at all unusual to find trees down. Won’t know till we get there, but it could mean a hike into the house to get the tractor and saw and some cutting in the dark to be able to drive in. But I believe most of the likely trees are already removed. . .

Edit: arrived home just fine. Some branches down and the creeks are roaring, but everything is good.

It seems like everyone experienced their own take on holiday cleanup duty, whether it was just trimming some branches or dealing with unexpected storms. I'm really glad to hear that the last journey home went well.

Glad that you made it back safe. Sounds like things were a bit wild, but all good.
