Aside from the EPA issues and limitations placed on newer saws, I have not noticed a real difference as long as you take care of your saw, keep it tuned, and use good fuel. Here in Wisconsin, I've used mine in all weather conditions. I do ensure the sun/snow slider is correct for the conditions of my Echo's. Usually I get it barking at the 2nd or 3rd pull and started on the following. I do keep them along with all my tools, tractors and toys in a heated garage that helps. You know those frigid mornings when one saw fires up without a hitch, while another barely wants to start? How do old and new saws perform in cold weather and which ones you trust when the temperatures fall.
